Bonjour!! Jour deux
(Mary if the grammar’s wrong I’m sorry! ha ha)
So I’m missing EVERYONE back home. I’ve never been this homesick before. But at the same time I’m still having fun, even if my motor mouth has been cut off.
So we started out from home at 7am, which meant I woke up at 5:30 to get ready in time. The flight from Toronto was delayed by 40 minutes or so, and I got into Halifax at 9pm. We had to wait for more students, so the bus didnèt leave Halifax until midnight. It was a three hour drive to Universitè Sainte-Anne and we got in at 3am, only to wake up 3 hours later for placement tests (they didnèt start until 8am but they wanted to make sure everyone was ready).
So my tests were blank, obviously (having learnt zero French) and therefore I’m a débutante 1. (aka beginner)
I live in Bozo 3 and I’ve met a ton of people, mostly American. In fact, Canadians are the minority, which is tres strange, but they’re really cool. We actually Mary Poppined some guy’s room yesterday, because it was really dirty and smelly. It was funny.
I spend most of my free time wandering around the campus (which is HUGE) and trying not to get lost. It hasn’t been very warm here, but I love the fog so that’s fine with me. I can’t wait to have enough time to go down to the ocean.
I’ll upload pictures ASAP!! I know that entry wasn’t very fulfilling, but it’s very hard to describe. Donna told me I signed away my soul. Sometimes I feel like that, but then I remind myself it’s only the second day. I know it’ll get easier. Either that or my head will explode.
Thanks to everyone who sent me great messages! I love you!
