Day 29 & 30
I am getting really confused by not posting everyday!
Monday (yesterday) was a pretty routine day. Nothing exciting happened except that out atilier was only a half hour, not an hour and a half. Sweet!
Today was our second last day of classes. Tomorrow we have revision time in the labo, then Thursday we take retake the placement test that we had to take on the first day here, to see how we progressed. I am obviously going to do way better than before because I know more than 3 words of French.
On Friday is our final. I am really nervous, but I’m not gonna be overly worried because I’m not even using the credit for this course. Still, I’m not gonna slack just in case I decide to take a non-credit French course at MacEwan.
Today we did interviews. Most people did the whole celebrity thing (Opera and Britney Spears, etc) but Drew and I decided he was just going to interview me. So I talked about the only interesting thing I’ve ever done, which was shaving my head. It was interesting, to say the least. I don’t know if people really got it, but whatever.
3 more days!!!!!!
8 days and I’m 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Days 26-28
Okay, so I haven’t blogged in a while so I’ll just push the whole weekend together into one post.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1
Friday was the 50s Soriee. After diner Jill and I hung out at Michaela’s room and pre-partied, made fun of people who are annoying (Qu’est-ce que tu fais? HAHAHA) and I drew on Michaela (she asked me to, don’t worry
) The actual soriee was pretty boring, so we went to the different res parties instead.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 2
I went canoeing at 10am. That was fun. Then I came back and met up with Jill and Michaela again. Later on M & I fell asleep on the grass outside the residences after supper. Then I heard some very familier, very ENGLISH music. Some girl had put on ‘What Is Love’ by the Haddaways and was pumping it through her iPod speakers and started to dance to it. There were about 4 profs/animateurs standing outside one of the residences. They just looked at each other and were like ‘WTF??’ and the chick got an advertissment. She was either really dumb or did it on purpose. Which is dumb.
After that incident we went to the Café Bric-a-Brac and played tile Rummy with a girl from M’s res, and then went back to her res to play some more cards and pig out on chips. J & M went to the soriees (there were two) while I went to bed, because the Haute-Mer was at 8am the next morning.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 3 (aka today)
Whale-watching at 8am. It was really cold out on the ocean, but I did see some whales and seals. I didn’t get any pictures of the whales because they move too goddamn fast, but I did get a video and some pictures of the seals. Then I fell asleep on the boat (the cabin was nice and warm). I was so hungry when we left that the whole time I had a stomachache because I needed food in my belly. So when I got to the cafeteria I gobbled down some food. Then I went to the labo, then here.
My weekend was very entertaining.
5 days left!

Day 25
1 more weekend (because next weekend doesn’t count.
4 more school days (apparently there’s no classes next Thursday and Friday)
4 more tests (I think. Definitely one tomorrow OMD. That’s «Oh Mon Dieu» by the way)
8 more days ( Saturday doesn’t count because I’m leaving so early)
I am totally gonna miss the people here, as well as the campus. The fear of being kicked out and the constant French, not so much. To everyone at home, I apologize in advance for my Franglais (where you stick random French words in your English sentences without realising it). It’s gonna happen, but this way you can pick up a little French too lol.
AH so many good times. This place would have been way cooler in English, I have to admit. But laughing at the bad grammer is okay. And the stealthyness of Jill.

Day 22 & 23
OK, so this will also be known as the “foot post”.
On Sunday I went to the beach with some friends and went swimming. I cut my feet on the barnacles while I was in the water. Then I walked back to my towel (on the sand, obviously). And I got sand in my feet. When I got back to the school I found a first aid kit and got some sand but not all out of the cuts, and bandaged it up. On Monday (Yesterday) it hurt even worse and I could barely walk.
I found a prof who in turn found someone to drive me to the doctor. After waiting for a half an hour for her to show up, I was driven to Weymouth. The doctor cleaned my foot up, scraped the sand out with some Tweezers (or other sharp metal object) and bandaged me up. I have to take my antibiotics 4 times a day. 1 hour before or 3 hours after eating, for 7 days. I can’t get my foot wet for two days. I can’t walk barefoot on the sand for 10 days (but by the time that’s up I’ll be home).
So that’s the story. It was insanely difficult to shower with one leg today while the other (my right leg) was hanging out of the bathtub.
I’m glad this didn’t happen at the beginning of the week or I would have been freaking out and wanting to come home (or at least even more than I was then)
Today has been a little difficult. There’s a lot of stairs here and the elevators are broken most of the time. I need to wash clothes but don’t want to walk to the bank to get change (I’m gonna ask Jill to come with me, just in case). I feel like such a baby, but I’m glad mom made me go to the doctor or else it would’ve gotten way worse. I’m trying to be independent and not have people help me. There’s not much they can do besides carry me, and that’s a little much.
I’m glad me foot will be a little better by the time I’m back in P’tit Bois. Although, I might lie a little bit so I can go with Nicole again
.
10 days and I’m home.
14 days and I’m 18.
Holy crap
07.22.08
Day 16
Almost halfway there!! The time has gone by so fast, and that was the hard part. The easier part is gonna fly!
Today is….uh….a lazy day. I have my workshop (with Nicole YAY!) at two, and then nothing pressing to do until…………. well, tomorrow. But tonight there’s a French “The Price Is Right” in the theater and I could always go swimming at 4. Actually, swimming would be an awesome idea if I had anyone to go with. Jill doesn’t have a bathing suit (silly girl). I might just go it alone and lane swim, now that I’ve found my goggles.
Um….. I am learning tons and tons of French. Sometimes I forget words and I know my grammar is horrible. I still hand gesture a lot too but seeing as I didn’t know a single word of French when I came here 17 days ago, I’m doing pretty good.
In other news, there’s been one person expelled from the programme! I’m just glad it’s not me.
07.06.08
Thirteen Hours
So, approximately 13 hours until my plane takes off for Toronto from Saskatoon. (By the way, for those interested in the French Immersion program at Université Sainte-Anne, visit
http://www.usainteanne.ca/programmes/spring.php).I’m very excited and slightly nervous, but I know everything will turn out great. I’m so excited that I have nothing to say. I’m done packing and everything, and have said my good-byes to (almost) everyone.
Watch for a new blog entry on Monday or Tuesday!
06.26.08
Nine
I graduate tomorrow (holy cow) and then it’s only 9 days until I leave. This is insane, especially since I haven’t done anything on my to do list.
I don’t know how I’m supposed to pack for five weeks with a limit of 50 lbs. I tend to overpack. Damn luggage constraints.
All I did today was decorate for grad ceremony and banquet. It was fight free surprisingly.
