Day 20
Two weeks from now I’ll be at home!
Today we went to Port Royal and Grand-Pré. Port Royal was a trading post or the harbour where Champlain landed (the tour guide spoke in French, so I basically jsut stood there. I had no idea what was going on).
Then we went to Grand-Pré. Grand-Pré was so interesting. I felt really bad because I didn’t know anything about The Great Upheaval. It’s not included in the school curriculum, so it feels like only Acadia’s know about what happened. (To find out more, Google “The Great Upheaval”). It opened a whole big can of worms in my mind about the government (mainly Saskatchewan, but my friend from BC hadn’t been taught about it either) and what they teach us. It was really a shame. Canada’s history isn’t as squeaky clean as they teach us in school.
I had lots of fun at Halloween last night, but I didn’t stay ling because a) I had to get up early because the bus left for Port Royal at 8am and b) my dress was a little small (but looked great) and it was difficult to breathe in. Which isn’t the best thing for dancing. So I went to bed, and slept on the bus both there and back. Tonight is Casino night, and I am going to go and stay for the whole time, damn it!! I haven’t done that yet. So I’m not going to have another nap beforehand or I’ll never get to sleep tonight.

Day 19 (Halloween)
Yesterday was so hot and humid!!! I’m not used to that so it really sucked. I was very sticky and sweaty all day. Yesterday for our Atiliers Nicole took us to a river to go swimming. It was so nice! The water was the perfect temperature and everything. Nicole is really fun for workshops. I wish I had her the first week so I could have her again the last week. Alas, my first week was P’tit Bois, which is French for “little woods” and “slave labour”. Nicole told us to bring our dictionaries today, but I have no idea what we’re doing. I’m excited though! I don’t think it’s going to be boring, whatever it is.
In school news, I am one step closer to registering for classes. I’m waiting for the school to release the hold on my account, and then I’m done!! The first semester I only have one 8am class, and nothing at all on Fridays
So…. yeah, NS is pretty good. Tonight is Halloween. Today at the Session d’Information, two people pretended to be on a date in some haunted area. Then all the animateurs busted in dressed as Zombies. Zach bailed out and left his “girlfriend” to be eaten. They ate her brains and then I could hear some soft, familiar music in the background – THRILLER!!!! It was so frickin’ hilarious, and I totally called it too.
Tonight my costume is going to be a (possibly dead) little Goth girl. Pretty sweet stuff. AND I GET CANDY!!!!!!!
I am excited.

Day 17 & 18
I didn’t update yesterday because we were at this restored Acadien village from 1pm until 7pm, and then a concert from 7pm to 9pm. It took 2 hours to get to the village. Thank God Jill and I had got to the buses early. We were on the University bus (with air conditioning) while most of the rest of our friends were on chartered school buses (no air conditioning ha ha!) The village was very cool. I took 126 pictures and posted some at dorpshots.com/lauriemarie. The concert was ok but I was really really tired, so I didn’t really enjoy it.
Today is so freaking humid and hot. I am drenched in sweat all the frigging time. (I am also wearing jeans and a black t-shirt, so that might be the reason….). Today is already Thursday – the week’s almost over!!!!!! Holy merde! Tonight there is another Cafe Theatre, but with students instead of staff. I’m pumped.
Tomorrow is Halloween! Trick ‘r’ Treating!!! I’m very excited, seeing as I haven’t gone trick r treating in 7 or 8 years (Merde I am old).
I don’t know if the Sleepover will be tomorrow or samedi soir. I will check with mes amis.
Notice all the French thrown in there??? I’m starting to think in French!
People back home, prepared to be confused.
Write me letters
or emails at least
